I bought this because it was packable and could be thrown in a backpack when not in use. I purchased this for an Alaskan cruise since the weather can be unpredictable. I was able to layer it over a thick, long sleeve cotton shirt & a lightweight thin down jacket. It held up to a little light rain and gave me an extra layer of wind breaking during a whale excursion. I'm not sure how it would hold up in a down pour as we had wonderful weather while we were there. Only a few times did it lightly rain, and this jacket kept me dry. Took this on my trip to Ireland and left it in my backpack in case for rain or wind. So glad I had this with me! Water slides right off. I ordered this jacket for an upcoming hiking trip. I don’t plan to use it often, so I like that it was affordable. I also like that it fits into a little bag and the blue color is attractive. I’m mainly writing this review to help others with fit, because I found some of the answers and reviews to be conflicting. I am 5’6”, 145 lbs, with athletic build. Bust maybe 36” and hips maybe 39”. This jacket fits loosely as it should. The sleeves do start to get short when I raise my arms but it’s not a big deal and my arms are kind of long anyway. I’m glad I got this size.
