With the Breaker ID, you don’t have to shut off power to the entire house, or go through trial-and-error, when locating a circuit breaker. A vital tool for both homeowners and contractors, the Breaker ID finds the right circuit breaker every time. - Easy 1-person operation. - Scans for easy identification and labeling of all breakers. - Finds breakers up to 120 V faster and more efficiently with no accidental shutoffs. - Automatic calibration. - Lights and audio indicate circuit location. - Units snap together for storage. - US-UL Certified. The Breaker ID components: - The transmitter plugs into the electrical circuit and sends a signal through the circuit. - The receiver scans the breaker panel detecting the correct circuit breaker. Plug the transmitter into the electrical outlet that needs to be turned off. The transmitter sends a signal down the wire connecting that circuit to the circuit breaker panel. This tool calibrates automatically. To use, connect the transmitter to the circuit and scan the breaker box twice with the included receiver. The first scan calibrates to the circuit breakers. During the first scan, the Breaker ID may indicate more than one breaker as it memorizes each circuit. The second scan then indicates the target circuit breaker with a green LED light and audio tone. Note: Be sure to hold the receiver at an angle so that the entire contact area of the receiver touches each circuit breaker. A new, fully charged 9V battery is required to steadily power the integrated LCD screen in Zircon tools. Please note that, like a cell phone or any personal electronic device, the 9V batteries needed to power Zircon tools can lose power even when sitting idle. The installation of a fresh battery, with an extended expiration date, typically resolves 99% of problems seen by Zircon Customer Support. Question: What is the highest voltage rating the Breaker ID can be used on? Answer: The Breaker ID has a 120 V 1.5 Watt maximum. Question: Will the Breaker ID work on anything besides a standard 110 V outlet? Answer: No. This tool is only designed for a standard 110 – 120 V AC outlet. Question: Does the circuit/line I’m testing have to be live to use the Breaker ID? Answer: Yes. The system needs the circuit/line to be live and active. Question: Is there a distance limitation between outlet and breaker box? Answer: No. As long as the system is active and live there is no limitation. Question: Does the Breaker ID use batteries? Answer: Yes. The receiver part (the part you use at the breaker box) requires a new 9V alkaline battery. Question: How often do I need to change the battery? Answer: A new battery should be changed after about 50 operating hours. Question: Where can I get help using my Breaker ID? Finding the right circuit just became a simple, one person operation! Use the Zircon Breaker ID circuit breaker finder to avoid going through tedious trial and error procedures or accidentally shutting off power to the wrong room or the entire house. A vital tool for both homeowners, contractors, and electricians alike, the Breaker ID acts as a circuit breaker finder, automatically calibrating and finding the right circuit every time! And the best thing? You can do it yourself! The Breaker ID includes two parts: the transmitter and the receiver wand. The transmitter plugs into a circuit via a standard outlet and sends a signal down the live AC wire connecting that circuit. The dc powered receiver wand scans the breaker panel for the signal sent by the transmitter. To use this tool is a circuit identifier simply plug the transmitter into an electrical outlet up to 120 volts and scan your circuit breaker switch panel twice to identify which breaker operates the outlet. During the first scan, the Breaker ID may indicate more than one breaker as it memorizes each circuit. On the second scan, the circuit detector will identify the correct circuit breaker with a green LED light and an audio tone. The patented technology of Zircon’s Breaker ID eliminates false positives providing trustworthy results making it a "must have" item for every toolbox. 120 volts
