The Electric Range Radiant Surface Element is a 2500 watt large heating element installed under the cooktop of your range that heats up the surface above it. This element features easy-to-install “plug in” style terminals and is compatible with many electric range makes and models. If your range's burner no longer heats up, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. To access the part, open the oven door and remove the two screws that attach the cooktop to the body of the range. Remove the cooktop carefully. Please note that elements are sold separately. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part.
