Provide reinforced grip and better hand feeling in actual operation. Superior bite on strap to keep effective tightness for hemorrhage. Insert the injured limb through the loop in the band and position the tourniquet 2-3” above the bleeding site directly to the skin. Route and band around the limb,and pass the tip through the gaps for the buckle. Position the tourniquet 2-3"above the wound site. The band should always travel around both the rolling pin and sliding teeth in the buckle. Pull the band tight and fasten it back on itself, all the way around the limb but not over the rod clips.The band should be tight enough so that 3 fingers cannot slide beneath it.If they can, re-tighten and secure. Twist the rod until bleeding has stopped. Also check for distal pulse beneath the tourniquet near the wound,this should disappear. Secure the rod inside the clips to lock it n place. Check for bleeding and distal pulse.If bleeding continues or distal pulse is present below the tourniquet, consider additional tightening or applying a second tourniquet above the first Reassess. Route the band between the clips and over the rod.Secure the rod and band with the TIME strap.Record time of application with the pen at the top. Consider further securing with medical tape.Ensure tourniquet is visible for medical personnel.
