Peroxide-based treatments use oxidising action to whiten teeth. As part of this process, peroxide releases something known as ‘free radicals’ which readily attack organic molecules to reduce discolouration. This is likely to cause unwanted side effects such as sensitivity, gum irritation, and demineralisation. We have spent years of R&D through the Hismile Research Centre to find the best alternative. Led by our Head of Research and Development, Dr. Mauro Pascolutti, PhD, the Hismile Research Centre is the home of all formulations and product development. The Hismile Research criteria is based on 3 key pillars: Safety, Effectiveness, and Convenience. Each product we develop undergoes years of research to ensure that these 3 criteria are not only met, but exceeded. Our PAP+ formula maximises the benefits of PAP (phthalimidoperoxycaproic acid) as the active whitening ingredient. Unlike peroxide, PAP reacts with tooth stains without enamel damage or gum irritation. We've also added several other supporting ingredients to PAP+ that remineralise teeth and combat the effects of pre-existing sensitivity. The PAP+ clinical trial was a double blinded study, conducted by a third-party dentist. It involved 44 people between the ages of 19 and 55. 100% of participants that received the PAP+ formula saw instant results after one 10-minute treatment. 0% of people experienced any pain, sensitivity or gum irritation. Ahead of launch, our community got hands on with the PAP+ Teeth Whitening Kit, to assess our 3 key pillars of criteria. The feedback we collected provided key insights to our product, and was instrumental in shaping the PAP+ formula. The Hismile HQ is based on the Gold Coast, Australia.
