It is only suitable for surface snorkeling and is not meant to replace any professional snorkel set or diving equipment. To choose the correct size, simply measure from the bridge of your Childs nose to their chin. The measurement, not the age of you child is the important factor. The XS size (Extra Small) typically fits ages 4-5 to ages 8-9 and fits the chin to nose dimensions between 3.3 inches to 4.0 inches. The SM (small) typically fits ages 9-13 and fits the chin to nose dimensions between 4.0 inches to 4.7 inches. Simply contact Amazon if it's the wrong size. Going underwater and having your snorkel fill with water is an unpleasant experience. We took special care to ensure our patented fin design uses the latest in snorkeling technology for the best end user experience. Installed into the fin are two buoyant ball valves. In the event the fin goes below the surface, the balls will automatically seal the breathing tube and prevent water from entering the mask. Snorkel in calm water for best results.
