Classic pads are made with 100% archival grade cellulose wood pulp and natural artesian well spring water with neutral ph properties. Cold pressed paper has a less textured finish and is the most widely used paper surface. This paper often produces the brightest water colour paintings because its increased surface area holds more colour and therefore reflects more light. 100% cotton watercolour paper crafted in Europe by fine art paper making experts. Created on a traditional cylinder mould, it offers the highest quality surface for smooth, even washes, preserving lustre and transparency of colour. Rough, coarse, toothed texture offering greater differentiation of surface to work with. Pigment settles into hollows of paper and enhances granulation. Provides greater texture to washes. Pressed between felts at the paper mill giving it a distinctive, rough-textured surface. Subtle texture, midway between Rough and Hot Press, for both fine strokes and granulating colour. Fine surface for even definition with both dry and wet-in-wet techniques. Cold press is a popular choice for professional and beginners. Cold press is made from Rough sheets re-pressed without the felts. Hot pressed smooth surface ideal for fine detailed work. Brush glides along smooth surface that has almost no tooth.
