Two modes so you can control your schedule how you want to: Manual Mode: The timer will not follow a schedule and will always be on or off. Press the MANUAL button once to turn on and off. Auto Mode: The timer will follow your schedule. To go to AUTO mode, press and hold the MANUAL button until it says AUTO. You can press MANUAL once to toggle between on and off but it will always follow the next ON/OFF program. To switch between the 2 modes, press and hold the “Manual” button for about 4 seconds. With 2 grounded 3-prong outlets available, you’ll have the option to have just 1 or 2 different appliances or lights follow the same schedule. If you choose to just plug in 1 appliance or lights, you can use the attached socket covers to prevent any water or foreign substance (such as sand or dirt) from entering inside the unit. Note: We recommend hanging the unit vertically with the sockets pointed towards the ground and the unit being 2ft above the ground for maximum weather resistance.
