See more product details PRODUCT The PTM Full Support Arm Sling provides firm support to the arm and forearm, allowing for a better and faster recovery. The product has been designed for traumatic pathologies of the shoulder, fractures and dislocation of the arm, elbow and forearm. It fully supports the arm and it is suitable for both arms. The sling can be easily and rapidly put on, thanks to its two adjustable straps (one behind the back and the other above the shoulders), mobile fasteners by the wrist and a comfortable shoulder pad. THERAPEUTIC ACTION A firm support of the arm is essential for the recovery from wrist, elbow, forearm, arm and shoulder injuries and conditions. The sling supports and stabilizes the scapulohumeral joint, apart from relieving the elbow from the weight of shoulder joint, providing for a correct healing. The straps allow to apply the necessary pressure to position the sling as per the needs of the treatment. The strap across the back brings the arm closer to the trunk, contributing to the arm's immobilization. Unlike other slings, the full support of the arm provides for a better and more effective grasp and hold of the arm and forearm, preventing it from moving. MATERIAL DESCRIPTION This product is made of a 100% polyester fibre, which provides for a three-dimensional weave with openings, thus preventing excessive sweating. The material does not have direct therapeutic effect but it is an excellent option for the firm support of the arm, whether it is in a cast or not. This material is nowadays used in several state-of-the- art textile products.
