Historically, hibiscus tea has been used in African countries to decrease body temperature, and soothe a sore throat. Hibiscus tea, tastes tart, similar to cranberry, and may be consumed hot or iced. To brew, bring 8 fluid ounces of water to a boil. Next, add one to three teaspoons of hibiscus cut and sifted flowers to the water. Let the mixture steep for three to five minutes, and remove the cut and sifted flowers.
