Description

First Honey is 12+ medical grade honey. Unlike regular store-bought manuka honey, First Honey is sterile and free of skin irritants. The 12+ rating is a measurement of the natural chemical characteristics within Manuka honey, which assures its purity and efficacy. The efficacy of the Manuka honey used in First Honey products is unparalleled due to our high standards for handling, placement of beehives, and manufacturing process. First Honey has a fully integrated ISO-accredited system to manage the honey from beehive to final product, ensuring that only the purest, highest-quality medical-grade Manuka honey is present in every bandage and tube. Compare First Honey to other sterile honey ointments and honey bandages, you’ll see our honey is the only 100% active leptospermum scoparium around. You can use First Honey on areas that get repeatedly knicked or rubbed raw without building up resistance to effectiveness or creating antibiotic-resistant bacterium. Use it every day or keep it on the bathroom shelf for up to 4 years, the natural properties of Manuka honey mean it’s extremely stable and safe. Running a Manuka honey farm can be a tricky business. That’s because bees will tend to harvest the nectar of every flower they find. In order to secure the potency of every tube and bandage of First Honey, every flower around here must be a Manuka flower. The bees only visit the sticky, thick, and sometimes difficult petals of this whitish pink blossom. In the small town of Masterton, New Zealand, we have dedicated ourselves to a small and intimate family farm of Manuka trees. We are beekeepers, nature lovers, and evangelists of the healing properties of Manuka honey. Through research and innovation, our First Honey team of chemists have uncovered the unique nourishing benefits of Methylglyoxal found within Manuka honey. From these discoveries of unparallelled antibacterial and wound healing properties, First Honey was born. Created for the moments in everyday life when you need safe and effective care for the ones you love. Leptospermum scoparium, commonly known as the Manuka tree, is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae, native to Australia and New Zealand. Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is a natural saccharide found in the nectar of this beautiful flowering bush-like tree. Bees draw their nectar from the Manuka flowers on our First Honey farms and turn it into honey. Over time the DHA in the nectar is gradually converted into a compound called Methylglyoxal (MGO) through a natural chemical reaction. MGO is the main chemical responsible for the unique antibacterial activity in Manuka Honey. Our beekeepers carefully harvest the Manuka honey, and collect a sample from each batch which is independently lab tested for the precise level of MGO. The batches with the highest concentration of MGO are selected for medical application. Minor abrasions, lacerations, minor cuts, minor scalds, and burns.100% Active Leptospermum Honey from New ZealandClean the affected area. Apply ointment directly to wound.
