The reflective, silver side of the FirePad should face up towards the heat. The "aluminization" is the key to this product's performance. It reflects up to 95% of radiant heat away from your deck! DO NOT place heat source directly on FirePad Deck Protector. There must be at least 6 inches of space in between the heat source and FirePad for proper heat protection. The FirePad is available in 2 sizes: 24" diameter and 36" diameter. Since the hottest part of the fire is in the center of the pit, it is most important to have adequate protection in the center. Store indoors and lay flat at the end of each use to ensure the longevity and function of the product. Do not use with Stainless Steel Portable Firepits.
