APEC FI-CERAMI filter is a 3-stage ceramic filter cartridge that combines the anti-microbial properties of ceramic with the enhanced properties of activated carbon and the heavy metal reduction capabilities of ion exchange media. This filter is ideal for removing off-tastes and odors in addition to particles, bacteria, cysts, chlorine, organics and lead.The 1st stage consists of a Sterasyl ceramic outer shell which provides genuine sub-micron filtration to reduce fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts and turbidity. Impregnated with silver, the ceramic structure is self-sterilizing and further inhibits bacterial growth. The 2nd stage of this filter includes an activated carbon block inner core which is highly effective in removing chemicals including chlorine, pesticides, herbicides and many other organic compounds. The 3rd stage incorporates ion-exchange resin media to reduce lead and heavy metals from the water.Particulate RatingNominal particulate rating (0.5 - 0.8 micron) is for >99.99% of a given size as determined from single-pass particle counting results.*Absolute particulate rating (0.9 micron) is for >99.99% of particles of a given size as determined from single-pass particle counting results.** To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
