Mouth guard will expand up to 20% during the molding process and may be too small if not molded properly. Follow fitting instructions to ensure the best fit. Few of our customers thought the youth size one was too small for their kids but realized it actually fitted their kids very well AFTER following the fitting instructions. Hope This Helps You to Make Your Purchase Decisions. Kids Under 6 Years Old : dual-layer mouth guards may be too bulky. You may need to trim the ends of the kids mouth guard so it doesn't irritate the back of your kid's mouth (Yes! Extra Work Might Be Needed). Please consult your kids' dentist or consider our "5 PACK" one layer clear mouth guard for kids. Kids between 6 and 12 years: Most parents are satisfied with the results as long as they follow the instruction correctly. Parents have peace of mind when their kids are competing during a game or practice. Even some female adults with smaller mouth enjoy our kids mouth guard as well. Remember, The Above Size Suggestion by "Age" is "ESTIMATE" and this is based by our customers' experience after we sell for years! Kids age between 11 and 15 years old could go either way. (As you can see in the picture, the narrow front gap gives your kids a snug fit, which also means it doesn't fit over your kid's braces. FAQ #2: Why Narrow Front Gap? This is actually one of our best "Oral Mart Advantages"! The gap for the front teeth is narrow for tighter fit. The teeth marks don't have to be exactly on the gap. As long as the teeth stay on the inner gel, it would be fine. After putting in the boiled water for 35 ~ 40 seconds, the inner gel will be very soft and ready to mold. You kid can easily bite through the small gap at the front. (See "Before & After" picture below) FAQ #3: Do NOT Chew Mouth Guard As Its Protection and Durability Will Be Greatly Diminished!
