This mount does not fit the 212. The round back on this mount will accommodate rounded receivers, and guns that have an accu-trigger. Savages without an accu-trigger will require our flat back mount (listed separately). The middle spread is the distance between the two middle holes, center to center, on your receiver. We made this mount specifically for the 220 Slug Gun. We took our Long Action mount and shortened it to allow for the use of a shotgun scope. This should alleviate issues with the bell hitting the front of the scope mount on the regular Savage Long Action Scope Mount. Installation: EGW recommends 20 inch lbs of torque and a drip of blue loctite (loctite is sold separately). Picatinny cross slots run the full length of the rail, which gives the shooter flexibility when mounting scope rings and other accessories. The channel in the center reduces the overall mass of the mount, weighing in at 2-3oz on average. Also, in many cases, it will not obstruct usage of factory iron sights.
