What is demineralization? Demineralization of teeth refers to the erosion of the surface enamel, or the thin outer shell of the tooth. Enamel protects the tooth from activities such as chewing and grinding. It also protects the tooth from being exposed to high/low temperatures and other negative stimuli. As the enamel has no living cells, the body is unable to repair eroded enamel. How do I know if I have demineralized teeth? In its early stages, demineralization usually appears as glassy white spots on the enamel. Demineralized teeth have a chalky surface, which may scrape off easily like fine powder. Demineralized teeth can also pick up stains easily from coffee, tea, food coloring and smoking. Over time, bacteria in plaque produce acids that damage your enamel. Our Active Remineralization Toothpaste contains hydroxyapatite, one of the main minerals that your tooth enamel is made of, to help repair demineralized tooth enamel. Hydroxyapatite - Hydroxyapatite microparticles bond with and repair your demineralized tooth enamel. Xylitol - Raises the ph level of saliva in your mouth, encouraging the natural minerals in your saliva to be deposited into demineralized tooth enamel. Fluoride Free CPC - Help fight bacteria that cause plaque and bad breath. Enriched with antioxidants - Vitamin E and Chamomile. Calcium Carbonate - Gently remove tooth stains. Aloe Vera - Helps soothe sensitive teeth and gums. Mint - Freshens breath. Made with a mild naturally derived foaming agent - Prevents irritation of oral tissue, making the product safe and gentle to use every day. Animal-friendly - Not tested on animals. So sure our toothpastes do not foam as much as others. That's because we don't use Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) ingredient as well as Parabens, Triclosan, Titanium Dioxide, Artificial Coloring, PEG/PPG, Alcohol, DEG, Mineral Oils, Retinol, Saccharin and Peroxide.
