See more product details The Filabot - Original EX2 is built around the same base system as the Filabot - Original. However the EX2 version is more than 200% faster at making the filament then the base system. The EX2 version uses a custom feed screw. We collaborated with industry leading plastic professionals, top level CAD designers, and top class machine shops to produce this screw. This screw is precision machined and precision ground, using only the best material. This EX2 makes a pound of filament in about 30 minutes. Compared to other machines that can take well over 3 to 4 hours. Not only is this screw fast, it is specifically designed for the application. This screw is designed to feed, melt, and pressurize plastic just like industrial machines, but in our system. The Filabot EX2 extruder system allows users to expand the materials beyond the common grades of plastics that are normally used in 3D printing. The Filabot EX2 can work with a wide range of plastics and we are constantly testing new grades to make sure they perform well in in our system. This system works with ABS, PLA, HIPS, PS, Ultem, Peek, and many others. This is the ideal system for users who need access to more materials to solve issues that arise from the limiting range currently available. The Filabot EX2 is a great system for the process of recycling. We designed this version to work well with clean, ground up plastics. We develop all of our hardware based on the goal of recycling, but this unit in particular will make the process much easier. The Filabot EX2 has additional (add-on) melt filters that capture small particles missed in the cleaning process of recycled plastic so that clean, non-clogging filament will be produced. Extruding filament from low cost pellets or recycled material will drastically lower the cost of 3D printing. In some cases, cost can be cut by over 90%. Our systems use efficient heating with high quality thermal management to use minimal power consumption, in turn adding minimal cost to your extruded filament.
