I'M A LITTLE TEAPOT is a little Australian company with a big heart. We support clean, chemical free living. WE LOVE COTTON! WE LOVE ORGANIC! My name is Lisa Butcher, I started this brand because we wanted something exceptional for our newborn son Lincoln, and there just wasn't anything good enough. Everything was loaded with polyester & other synthetics, heavily processed and just not what I wanted for our baby. I wanted something clean. Something fresh. Something not drenched in chemical residue & other deadly toxins. A lot of people aren't aware of the dangers of chemical residue and off gassing that is so harmful for babies. A safe sleep surface is just so important. I have always loved cotton. To me, it seems like the wholefood of fabric....It's the avocado of bedding! [laughs] That beautiful thick, white bud, soft and fluffy. It's grown that way you know, a factory did not make that. I wanted to pick all those cotton buds and make a nest for our newborn son. So, I did. A few moms in our baby group got together, we designed what we wanted and had it made. We had to fight for some of the elements we wanted...manufacturers couldn't understand why we wanted to fill the quilting with organic cotton because it was so much more expensive to do so. In the end, it isn't about the money. We wanted to produce the best....and we've done that. Our cotton is grown without the use of harmful chemicals. We treat our cotton gently & respectfully. We covered our OEKO-TEX certified waterproofing with an additional layer of organic cotton so it won't melt and shred in the dryer and also so it will be as quiet as a ninja. No loud crinkly sounds to wake your wee sleeping bub. We quilted with organic cotton because its the best, and that's what we wanted. We did not bleach our cotton. Chemical free and pure, we think nature made it perfect just the way it is. This beautiful crib pad is a work horse. With all the feeding, sleeping & blowouts about to happen you will be washing & drying this nursery item over and over again. Be comforted that our crib pad is made to work hard. Simply strip your crib pad off the mattress, throw in the washing machine and wash with cold water. Line drying is best as the sun is a natural bleach and kills germs, but this crib pad can easily be thrown in the dryer as long as it is dried on the coolest setting. Our deluxe crib pad is soft, soft, soft, so you can comfortably lay your baby right on it if all your crib sheets are in the wash.
