In 1959 Alpha Industries was commissioned by the department of defense to design and manufacture high performance outerwear for the U.S. military. The B-15 Flight Jacket was first introduced in 1944 to replace the B-10 aviator jacket. It was a very popular military bomber jacket throughout the late 40's as by the U.S. Air Force pilots and air crews. Designed for cold temperatures, the B-15 was a reliable winter jacket and came equipped with Mouton fur collar and 100% wool knit waistband and cuffs. The B-15 is a classic flight jacket made tough to battle the harsh elements. It features a nylon shell and removable synthetic mouton faux fur collar. The Alpha B-15 features button tabs once used by pilots to connect oxygen masks and headset wires. This style of flight jacket is our tight fit so we recommend you order one size larger than what you normally wear.
