Tilley Endurables is a Canadian hat company founded in 1980 by Alex Tilley. As an avid sailor, Tilly sought to make a 'proper durable hat' suitable for a sailboat. A proper sailing had had to float, stay on, be unshrinkable, last indefenitely and look attractive. Tilley received design advice from a milliner, information about materials from a sail-maker and then oversaw its manufacture by a local hat-maker. That was the true recipe of Tilley's success. Although Tilley Hats are acknowledged as the best-made and most practical hats of their type in the world, the company continue to master the technology. Tilley apparel incorporates the wrinkle-resistant materials, plenty of adjustability and just the right amount of stretch. Cotton Duck means two strands of cotton have been twisted together to make a stronger more durable thread, 10 oz cotton duck has been pre-shrunk and treated dor water reppelency and mildew resistance. Organic Cotton has been sueded for a worn-in look and has spandex for extra give. Hemp. Nature's performance fabric hemp is naturally resistant to UV light, mildew and salt water. With a linene look and feel, Hemp offers breathability and comfort in hot weather. Mash-Up. Recycled hemp and organic cotton thread mix with an interesting rough texture and colour variation. Breathable Nylon. Nylon and 7% Spandex, Tilley Breathable Nylon is trated with a durable water and stain repellent finish which lasts up to 70 washes. Lightweight and quick drying. Nylamtium. A water resistant and durable 6oz 2-ply Supplex Nylon, lightweight and fast drying. TILLEY T5MO ORGANIC COTTON AIRFLO HATOne of our lightest weight hats, this organic cotton Airflo hat has a soft, sueded finish and a 3/4 inches mesh for great breathability. The hat packs very well and regains it's shape well after packing. Organically grown cotton requires no toxic chemicals, synthetic fertilizers or pesticides to produce.
