Many communities have banned the use of polyethylene plastic bags for yard waste removal, because PE bags can not be composted with the yard waste or burned. Both specifications require that biodegradable/compostable products completely decompose in a municipal composting setting in a specific time frame, leaving no harmful residues behind.
