For non-permanent installation simply remove the screw from the assembly before installing - consult your local building code. Meets ASSE 1011 Standard for hose bibb vacuum breakers as required by municipal building codes to prevent water backflow and back-siphonage. Any back pressure in the water line will be vented out through the unit, preventing potentially contaminated water from being pushed back into the water supply. Standard 3/4-inch female hose threaded inlet fits most home and commercial hose bibbs. 3/4-inch male hose threaded outlet fits standard 3/4 inch garden hoses. The American Valve MVB is a brass vacuum breaker that protects against the flow of polluted water back into the potable water supply. It contains a manual freeze relief feature to protect the valve during freezing conditions. This valve is not intended to convey water for human consumption.
