The 5SV Five Stage Reverse Osmosis system provides you with water that exceeds the quality of most bottled water and eliminates the inconvenience of heavy bottles and containers. This process puts the bottling plant right at your kitchen. Our filters turn your tap water into an efficient source of great tasting, clean, quality water. Many things can affect the quality and purity of well and municipal water such as water usage, temperature, and even weather. Household plumbing can also introduce contaminants such as rust and lead into your tap water. The 5SV water filtration system can alleviate these effects by providing a consistent level of filtration, giving you reasonably priced, high quality water . Stage 1 - A 5 Micron Sediment Filter traps sediment and other particles like dirt, silt and rust which affect the taste and appearance of your water. Stage 2 & 3 – Each contains a 5 Micron Carbon Block Filter reducing Chlorine, Chloramines and other materials that cause bad taste and odor. Stage 4 - A 50 GPD Semipermeable Membrane removes TDS, Sodium and a wide range of contaminants such as Chromium, Arsenic, Copper, Lead as well as Cysts, such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Stage 5 - A high quality In-Line Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Final Polishing Filter is used after the water storage tank to remove any remaining chlorine or other chemicals that cause bad taste or odor before being dispensed. The 5SV Reverse Osmosis System consists of five separate stages. Stage #1 - Five Micron Sediment Pre-Filter (104017) that traps particulate matter like dirt, rust, and silt that will affect the taste and appearance of your water. Stage #2 & 3 - Five Micron Carbon Block Pre-Filter (101009) that helps ensure a greater reduction of chlorine and other materials that cause bad taste and odors. (The first three stages are called Pre-Filters because they filter in front of the Reverse Osmosis Membrane). Stage #4 - The 50 GPD Membrane (560018) is the heart of the Reverse Osmosis System. This semi-permeable membrane will effectively reduce TDS (total dissolved solids), Sodium and a wide range of contaminants such as Lead, Percolate, Chromium, Copper and Radium. It will also remove over 99. 95% cysts such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. Stage #5 - Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Inline Filter (560010) and is used as a final polishing filter. GAC filters are used to remove chemicals that give objectionable odors or tastes to water such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs odor) or chlorine. It is important that this system is properly installed and maintained with an incoming water pressure of 40 to 80 psi for it to operate as designed. The filtered water passes through the membrane and enters the storage tank. When you're ready for a taste, it will leave the storage tank and pass through the fifth stage on its way up to the faucet. The end result? Crystal clear, high quality, and great tasting water! In the Box: 5SV Reverse Osmosis module (pre-installed filters), Parts Bag, 3 Gallon Storage tank, Faucet with parts bag and installation instructions (manual). In order to maintain your system in its top performance it is recommended to change out both the Sediment, Pre-Carbon & Post-Carbon Filters every 6 months, the In-Line Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter every 12 months, and the Membrane every 2 to 5 years depending on the quality of your incoming water supply. This will ensure you have crystal clear, high quality and great tasting water! This system is tested and certified by WQA to NSF/ANSI 372 Lead Free. Contact us on 1-800-752-5582.
